Steve Husten, ChFC®*
Steve grew up in a military family and lived in many states before settling in St. Paul. He started his career as a financial advisor at IDS Financial Services in 1991, where he spent 14 years working with families and small businesses. In 1998 Steve obtained his CFP® certification and his ChFC in 2003. Through Kaplan, he taught CFP® Exam preparation courses at The University of Minnesota, Metro State University, and the University of St. Thomas while he was an advisor. (Mr. Husten is not presently certified by CFP Board.) In 2005, Steve was offered a position at Woodbury Financial Services and sold his practice. This led to leadership positions at Woodbury Financial, Ameriprise Financial, and Portico Benefits Services. His heart led him back to working with clients, and in 2017 Steve joined Midwest Secure Retirement. Steve focuses his practice on helping clients save for retirement and making sound income, risk management, and estate preservation decisions before and during retirement.
Steve graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from St. Cloud State University, holds state insurance licenses. He enjoys performing music, playing hockey, cycling, and spending time with loved ones. He currently resides in the east metro with Patti, his significant other and good friend since the age of 12. He has two children he loves dearly and of whom he is very proud.
